School of Baking

Come and learn to bake with the best!

Traditional & Scrumptious is proud to annouce it's new School of Baking. With a lifetime of baking expertise, much of it self-taught, although following in her father's footsteps, Dawn Carvey can help you overcome your baking nightmares and give you confidence and knowledge which will surpass all your previous understanding. Learn to use the right ingredients, methods, and finishing touches.

All of Dawn's baking is done to competition standards.

Bake in small groups of four to six people in the intimate setting of Dawn's own Victorian house here in Hurworth.  Prices include tea, coffee and biscuits, as well as a simple lunch.

Vegetarians are well catered for.

Accommodation can be arranged locally.

  • Afternoon Tea Cakes & Scones
  • Pastry Making and Suitable Uses
  • Bread Making - Beginners (no prior knowledge required)
  • Bread Making - Intermediate (basic knowledge Helpful)
  • Childrens Baking - with Parent (Adjusted to suit the attendees abilities) i.e. Biscuits, scones, simple cakes/muffins, savories etc
